Association of Walls & Ceilings (AWCI) Golf Day 2014

Action Scaffolds recently sponsored the AWCI QLD annual golf day held at the Pacific Golf Club in Carindale.

Action Scaffolds ran a ‘Hole in One’ competition with a Bravi Leonardo HD and SoloGyps attachment (pictured below) as the main prize.  Whilst it was very competitive there weren’t any holes in one achieved, however we did manage to raise and donate funds to Cancer Council Queensland.

SkillsTech Queensland – Vocational Place Program (Work Experience)

Action Scaffolds support SkillsTech QLD through their Vocational Placement Program, a training program designed for students to gain an insight into the workforce and allowing them to gain firsthand experience before choosing an area in which to study.  A placement typically takes place over school holidays, for a minimum period of 160 hours and can be completed over a single block of time or spread out over a number of weeks until completed.

At Action Scaffolds we provide work experience by utilising a ‘buddy system’ where the student is teamed up with one of our team members throughout their time with us.  After an initial tour where we outline a typical day as a scaffolder the student joins our team member on site participating in the day to day duties of a scaffolder.  Students are limited to domestic sites for safety reasons.

The Vocational Placement Program gives the student an introduction to not only the industry but working within a team, rules and procedures of the industry and WHS compliance.
